Our Story
Royaltown Brewing is a new beer company in Rochester, N.Y. Born & raised in this historic beer town, our founders spent years testing recipes before landing on one that captures the spirit of the city – from the roaring falls of the Genesee to the sloping hills of Highland Park.
Our Philosophy
Beer is a social ingredient. It augments what we ‘bring’ to gatherings, both formal and informal. From steaks to sports, from pizza to politics, it’s part of the palette of our societal persona. Knowing this, we have a responsibility to provide the highest quality, most drinkable beer. Period.
Our Beer
We’re on a mission to provide the best beer in Rochester – a beer you can be proud of. To do it, we’ll procure only the best barley from N.Y. and Germany, water from Hemlock, and hops from Seattle. We will never use plastic in packaging and our kegs are stainless steel (with no BPA).
A NEW BEER FOR ROCHESTER & BEYOND…
Royaltown Brewing is the manifestation of a years-long dream by its founders, who were born and raised here. They’ve had a desire to help perpetuate the town’s rich brewing history with a beer made of the best grains from New York and Germany, and the freshest, cleanest water from the Finger Lakes.
That brewing history dates back a couple of centuries now. But it’s not surprising, considering the region was formed by the receding ice sheets of the last Ice Age, which left behind crystal clear water and fertile ground.
Innovation has also flourished in Rochester. The area is home to global brands, like Kodak, Xerox, and Bausch & Lomb. And, from 1945-1957 it was the home of the Rochester Royals NBA team. During that decade, the Royals treated the Edgerton Park faithful to some of the best professional basketball in the country. In fact, in 1951, the Royals beat the New York Knicks in a seven-game series to win the NBA’s very first championship.
Royaltown’s name is a nod to that team and the major league energy it brought to the city. It’s an energy that still drives us and helps fuel our pride in the Red Wings, the Amerks, and the Knighthawks. And that spirit transcends sports to music, innovation, social justice, academia, healthcare, and more.
